Christmas Hampers

January 3, 2021

Our 2020 Christmas campaign has now wrapped up. It was a challenging year, since the pandemic forced us to rethink how we could assist families in need within our community. Our usual Christmas hamper program requires dozens of volunteers all congregating in a relatively small space over a short timeframe. That was not possible to do safely this year. Instead, we were able to provide over $30,000 in grocery store gift cards to 245 families (564 adults and 416 children).

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated volunteers who assisted us in coordinating our Christmas program, registering clients and handling the distribution of these cards. We are also grateful to the churches, schools, businesses, community groups and individuals who contributed to FAMSAC in the past few weeks, either by making a financial donation to sponsor families or by collecting food donations and baby items which we will use to continue providing emergency food assistance in the coming months. Special thanks to:

Feed a Family this Holiday Season!

Our 2020 Christmas Campaign is now underway!

While COVID-19 has forced us to make some changes this year, it will not stop us from making sure families have the support they need.

If your family needs a little help this holiday season, please call 613-820-5428 and leave a message on our answering machine to register for our Christmas campaign. One of our volunteers will be in touch with you to confirm the arrangements.

Obviously, this program is a very large and expensive undertaking. That’s why we’re also inviting families and businesses within our community to sponsor a family by making a $100 donation. You can make a contribution to our Christmas Campaign by sending a cheque to our mailing address (note that it has changed!!) or online via Canada Helps.
